Lucinda Williams on Little Honey

September 24th, 2008 · No Comments · Sweet Jams, stuff.com

I spoke with Lucinda Williams a few weeks ago- a rather lengthy interview about her new record “Little Honey,” of which I’m writing a feature on. Lil Wayne Has Some New Material To Work In

September 16th, 2008 · No Comments · Official Business, Sweet Jams, stuff.com

I’m pretty sure Lil Wayne, Lloyd, or the Dream will somehow work this Guinness Record into their next song. My suggestion for possible lyric:

Lykke Li: “Can I Kick It?”

August 29th, 2008 · No Comments · Sweet Jams, stuff.com

Until I can find the video for Lykke Li covering vampire weekend last night, we’ll have to make due with the other cover she chose, not Lou Reed, but, Tribe Called Quest. It was better in the moment, looking back at it.

Shannon McArdle has a record coming out tomorrow. Its called “Summer of the Whore.” I wrote this about her and it. It’s totally worth skipping those two fast food stops this week in favor of “buying” this music. A stand out track:

Purchase here or here.

The Police: “Message In A Bottle”

August 8th, 2008 · No Comments · Sweet Jams, stuff.com

Last night, the Police wrapped their mega reunion tour at Madison Square Garden. The NYPD band joined them on “Message in a Bottle.”

Other things I noticed:

Jicks At Sirens, Don Draper Advice Column

August 1st, 2008 · No Comments · Sweet Jams, stuff.com

Two links for today.
Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks set at Sirens here. I was lucky enough to be up close and personal, and maybe I was too close- the sound wasn’t all that; very bassy mix, and it was hard to hear ol’ Malky. Maybe this’ll be a better representation.
