Tumblr of the Week: Upsidedown Dogs
A new feature that may or may not make it until November- the tumblr of the week!! Last week’s was most definitely the Laser Portraits.
This week: Upsidedown Dogs. Pictures of dogs, taken….upsidedown.

Jolie Holland’s been in the MDA hall of fame for awhile now; I’ve written about her numerous times, and probably will do so, some more, sometime. Last week she released her fourth record, “the Living and the Dead,” and I’ll say- if you’re only going to buy five records this year and borrow the rest, make this one of em. This video surfaced this week and seems appropriate for October.
Did you hear? Sharks now can just pull a gremlin and multiply. They must be up to something. Or looking to get more air time during Shark Week. Either way, this is disturbing for me, as I once saw a group of sharks while swimming off the coast of Georgia. Turns out they were dolphins, but, still.
Via Thighmaster, the Laser Portrait Tumblr. Can anyone make my portait, a laser one? I need a new, laser style facebook image. I’ll give you props and such. Rick click, save, laser it up. Then email it to me: mikeayers [at] gmail.
Curious about what you’d be named, had you been birthed by Sarah Palin? I’d be Axe Diesel Palin. Axe is pretty sweet. What’s yours?
I spoke with Lucinda Williams a few weeks ago- a rather lengthy interview about her new record “Little Honey,” of which I’m writing a feature on. I just found this little promotional video, that’s rather neat if you’d want to hear a good amount of snippets of the record. Its quite fantastic; probably my favorite since Essence.
I’m pretty sure Lil Wayne, Lloyd, or the Dream will somehow work this Guinness Record into their next song. My suggestion for possible lyric:
Yall shawty aint mine, if it wuz, it would sing,
and not look more like He Pingping.
Lil- if you’re reading this, get in touch. mikeayers [at]gmail.com
