Clearing the Bar

Pictured here, Ivan Ukhov has been accused of drinking Red Bulls and Vodka during competitions. And I can attest, those are pretty tasty. But also can attest that sometimes writers like to sneak in little jokes from time to time, even if you write for the AP.
“Ukhov failed with each attempt to clear the bar Tuesday before being asked to stop competing at the Swiss meet.”
Sounds like the bar was cleared, but the wrong one! Or, hows this. “After clearing the bar, Ukhov failed with each attempt to clear the bar.” One more: “The only bar Ukhov cleared wasn’t high at all; it was the mini bar!” Hahahahahhaha x 8765
