Verbal Committments.
On last week’s Friday Night Lights, Smash Williams was forced to go with his last choice - Whitmoore College - to play college ball. After originally getting a full ride at UT, he wasn’t that happy about crawling to this Uni, but as the show came to a close, he seemed to reconcile with his past actions that put him there (a fight). But thats fakey fake stuff. In real life, a guy in Nevada faked being recruited, and held a press conference, announcing his decision to go to Cal Berkley. The bizarre story is here, with commentary regarding the pressure on college recruits, and how of recent they’ve become somewhat of a national freak/circus show.
But lets retreat back to Dillon, Texas, as its in jeopardy of getting hit by a ratings tornado. Do something. Otherwise, we won’t get any plots next year about Landry getting fake recruited and holding press conferences to announce a non-existent scholarship.
