White Hinterland’s “Dreaming of the Plum Trees”

I myself don’t dream of plum trees, but Dead Ocean’s debut release from White Hinterland surely does. Her album is out next week, entitled “Phylactery Factory” (say that five times, at medium pace!) and will be one of the bestest this spring.

Emily Jane White’s “Dark Undercoat”

An album I slept on last year was Emily Jane White’s Dark Undercoat. I finally listened this morning, with pleasurable results. Reminds me of the smokey aspects of early cat power; it’s a bit dark, a bit sinister, a bit gloomy, but downright fantastic.
